Southeast Missouri State University
Southeast Missouri State University, founded in 1873, has a proud history of excellence in education. First founded as a teacher’s college, the institution has grown into a comprehensive University with more than 150 academic programs in five colleges.
Technology Resource Center – A center designed to assist the regions businesses in increasing productivity, enhancing product quality and dealing with environmental concerns. Services at the TRC include engineering and technical assistance, new manufacturing technologies, energy conservation, forming new business partnerships, and embarks on new research and training opportunities for the businesses and projects it serves.
Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center
The Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center (CTC) offers the business community in the region many options for their workforce to upgrade their skills. The Center also provides numerous short-term adult education courses. The Business and Industrial Training Division within the Center provides many services and programs including management courses, interpersonal skills, technology courses, WorkKeys Assessment and Job Profiles, as well as specialized courses offered on a contract basis with area companies.
Cape Girardeau College Center
The Cape College Center (CCC) located at the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center is a partnership with Mineral Area College, Three Rivers College and Southeast Missouri State University. This is an open enrollment higher education center committed to meeting the needs of their students and the communities they serve by offering community-college type courses.
SEMO Regional Industrial Training Group
The SEMO Regional Industrial Training Group (SIRTG), managed by Mineral Area College and their Business and Industry Division, is a consortium of sixteen area industries working collaboratively to provide leadership, management and industry specific trainings. The SRITG works in partnership with the Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center, Southeast Missouri State University and representatives from the local trade groups to offer a diverse schedule of trainings. Members of the training group participate in Missouri’s Customized Training Program and staff offers customized support to businesses seeking Customized Training Grants from the State of Missouri.
Missouri Career Center
The Missouri Career Center offers assistance to area businesses such as job postings, resume collection for available jobs and assistance with a variety of programs designed to assist a number of different populations seeking employment.
Workforce Development Board of Southeast Missouri
The Workforce Development Board of Southeast Missouri (WDB) provides assistance with the recruitment and referral of qualified applicants and screening services to area businesses. The WDB has formal partnerships with the Missouri Career Center, MERS Goodwill and serves as the conduit for federally funded programs established by the Workforce Investment Act.
